Firefox users on Windows 7, 8 and 8.1 moving to Extended Support Release Firefox version 115 ESR will be the last supported release for Windows 7, 8 and 8.1. If you're managing Firefox deployment in a business, though, or anywhere else with a large number of users, then it's a different story. Download Firefox on Windows from the Microsoft Store The 'Mozilla Firefox' app is available from the Microsoft Store for Windows 10 and Windows 11. Firefox ESR will remain at v68 for many months, so you'll be missing out on all the new interface tweaks, tab options and assorted browser speeds which Mozilla have added in the past few months. Windows 10 may show you a warning when installing apps that aren't from the Microsoft store. Every time standard Firefox is updated, Firefox ESR will incorporate all the latest security updates in its own minor upgrade, so the program will be every bit as safe to use: you just won't have all the latest features. The Firefox Installer that downloads will automatically offer you the best available version of Firefox for your computer. Of course this doesn't mean the browser will see no movement at all for an entire year.
